Visual Art Bio
Sandra Prest -Froher, an artist from the Stó:lō Nation, explores the charged duality within the human experience-the constant push and pull between inner chaos and the essential need for grounding. As a multimedia artist, her canvases, primarily abstractions, are not paintings of objects but of emotion itself. Her work begins as energetic downloads: ancestral messages, intuitive impressions, and felt sensations translated into color, gesture, and movement. Each piece emerges through a rhythmic, instinctive process where layers of paint become layers of memory, linage, and internal weather. The resulting abstractions are visual translations of universal states :turbulence, clarity, and reconnection. Prest-Froher’s practice is a meditation between the seen and unseen, inviting viewers to slow down, feel deeply, and recognize their own emotional landscapes reflected back at them.
Prest-Froher chooses her materials deliberately to express the outcome of her expression. One of her techniques features Acrylic pigments and ink on canvas. There is a cosmic vibrancy to this work. She channels energy through her body and blows air currents onto the pigments that interlace on canvas to create a type of marbling. Through this process, spiraling layers begin to emerge, which create a surreal mixture of opulence and otherworldliness.
Prest-Froher is interested in the process of transformation and metamorphosis. With a distinct style of abstraction or what she calls “Energy Art”.
Froher’s Fashion and Art has been collected throughout Europe, United Kingdom and North America.
